Artificial selection

Artificial selection, also known as "selective breeding", is the process by which farmers, animal husbandrists and pet breeders improve their stocks. By carefully assisting the mating or cross pollination of their strongest or most desirable animals and plants, over time they select for particular traits that are useful for humans.
