Etymology:

"Mammal" is from the Latin mamma for "breast"

Mammal refers to any of the class of warm-blooded vertebrates whose young are born alive (except for three species of egg-laying monotremes) and nourished with milk secreted from mammary glands.

All mammals have fur at some point in their lives.
